Evan James Stewart, 27, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 in Bartholomew County.
He was born October 4, 1991, in Shelbyville, the son of James Stewart II and Teresa (McIntosh) Hastings.
Evan is survived by his mother and step-father, Teresa and Nelson Hastings of Hollywood, Alabama; father and step-mother, James II and Kim Stewart of Edinburgh; step-brothers, Stefen Hastings and wife, Haley, of Farmland, Zac Holt of Edinburgh, and Justin Karnes and wife, Nicole, of Shelbyville; step-sister, Jessica Roland and husband, Aaron, of Shelbyville; maternal grandparents, Hollis and Ann McIntosh of Shelbyville; paternal grandparents, James and Betty Stewart of Spring Hill, Florida; step-grandparents, Rita and Charlie Kocher of Shelbyville, and Nancy and Paul Holt of Shelbyville; and three nieces and one nephew.
Evan graduated from Martinsville High School in 2010, and was currently working on his associate’s degree.
He was an active member of Cornerstone Christian Church.
Evan, owned and operated, Phoenix Painting.
He was currently a personal trainer and enjoyed hiking, nature, health and fitness.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor George Mitchell officiating.
Interment will be at South Park Cemetery in Greensburg.
