Evelyn Webster Smith, 97, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at her residence.
Born August 18, 1915, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of William Roscoe and Alma (Isley) Webster. She married Charles Joseph Smith on September 24, 1966, and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2005.
Survivors include her sister, Jo Webster of Shelbyville; nieces, Margaret A. Carmony of Westfield, LaVonne Linville of Greensburg, Angela Lux and Terri Lux of California; nephews, Mike Schantz of Shelbyville, Donald Fisher of Waldron, Bill Webster of Sarasota, Florida and Stephen Webster of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; several great-nieces and great-nephews; loyal caregivers, Johnna Miller of St. Paul and Cammi Hooker of Shelbyville; most loyal friend and neighbor, Imojean Reeves of Shelbyville; and best friend, Mary Kay Hart of Shelbyville.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mildred Fisher, Alice Stein, Marilyn Schantz Six and Lillian Price; and a brother, William Ernest Webster.
Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1933.
Mrs. Smith retired from National Cash Register in 1970 and was an independent consultant for several years as a self-employed accountant.
She loved animals. She and her husband had been actively involved in breeding Kerry Blue Terriers.
Friends may gather from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St., with the Rosary recited at 9 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
