Fannie F. Towns

Fannie Fay Towns, 95, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Morristown Manor, in Morristown. Born Jan. 15, 1910, in Rays Crossing, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ada (Fisher) Thomas. She married Randolph Towns, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include three cousins, Charles Robert Fisher of Blue Ridge, Helen Carwein of Bloomington and Edna McMichael of Shelbyville. Mrs. Towns was a homemaker and formerly co-managed an apartment building in the state of Washington from 1954 to 1974. She attended Rays Crossing School. Mrs. Towns was a member of Rays Crossing Christian Union Church. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Street Funeral Home, 232 W. Broadway St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerri Cadwallader officiating, assisted by Pastor Kevin G. Bennett. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rays Crossing Christian Union Church, 2115 N. 600E, Shelbyville, IN 46176; or Hospice of Shelby County, 110 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
