Finis Eugene Edwards

Finis Eugene Edwards, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born December 21, 1928, in Saline County, Illinois, the son of John Thomas and Anna Mae Edwards. On June 13, 1953, he married his wife of 61 years, Patricia Ann Bryan, and she survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Stephanie Edwards of Shelbyville and Tawnya Williams and husband, Tom, of Flat Rock; sisters, Rita Kenney of Normal, Illinois, Genevieve Floyd and husband, Don, of Crete, Illinois and Frances Estes of Illinois; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Thompson of Marion, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nora Edith Strange; and an infant brother. Finis was a U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a mechanical draftsman for General Electric and Wellman for over 40 years, retiring in 1997. Finis enjoyed remodeling houses. As per Finis’ request no services will be observed. Arrangements entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
