Florine M. Sanders

Florine M. Sanders, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 at her residence. She was born on January 27, 1927 in Wabash County, to the late Clarence and Erma (Wisker) Weintraut. She married Jack W. Sanders on May 29, 1946 and they began a loving life-long partnership. Florine was the Vice President of Sanders Interiors, Inc., an interior design and fine furnishings firm that flourished in Central Indiana for over 70 years. Florine is survived by her daughters, Jan Caton and husband, John, and Ann Lay and husband, Paul, both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Lori Law and husband, David, Andy Lay and wife, Diana, Megan Murali and husband, Arun and Matthew Caton and wife, Jamie. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack; sister, Naomi Weintraut Young; and a brother, Eugene Weintraut. Florine was a member of several women’s organizations at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was an active sports fan and shared her enthusiasm with her monthly bridge club and tripoli club members. Florine’s hospitality will be missed. Private services are pending at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
