Forester Stewart, 74, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Major Hospital.
Born May 31, 1931, in Oneida, Ky., he was the son of the late Boyd and Sylvania (Spurlock) Stewart. He married Lucy A. Davidson on Oct. 6, 1949, and she survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Larry (wife, LaDonna) Stewart, Wayne Stewart and Forester Lynn (wife, Rachael) Stewart, all of Shelbyville, and Wendell Stewart of Flat Rock; two daughters, Janice (husband, Ernie) Nash and Trish (husband, Mark) Kremer, both of Shelbyville; brothers and sisters, Ebb Stewart, Elijah Stewart, Romy Riley, Florence Riley and Zelda Garrison; 15 grandchildren, Gary Stewart, Steve Stewart, Angie Stewart, Jeremy Stewart, Wendell Stewart, Nathan Stewart, Tasha Stewart, Jenny Stewart, Megan Stewart, Stephanie Stewart, David Cox, Mellissa Nash, Tyler Kremer, Sarah Kremer and Ashley Spurlin; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Wayne Stewart; five brothers, Hubert Stewart, Boyd Stewart Jr., Lawton Stewart, Elmer Stewart and Joseph Stewart; and one sister, Mally Webb.
Mr. Stewart had been a carpenter for Kane Construction for 17 years, retiring in 1996. He previously was employed with Dave Beck Construction, in Greenwood; Wilson Breedlove Lumber Co.; and Swinford Lumber Co.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Tabernacle, in Franklin.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerome Baker officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
