Frances Louise Ashley

Frances Louise Ashley, 86, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Born April 14, 1922, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Maurice W. and Lucy J. Thralls. she married Edwin O. "Tod"Ashley Jr. on February 14, 1948, and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2007. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Ashley Dalton of Shelbyville; and grandson, Ben (wife, Andrea) Dalton of Bloomington. She also was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Ashley had been a bookkeeper for the former Grahm Ford and later for Bishopp Appliances, retiring in the early 1990s. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1940. Mrs. Ashley was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tri Kappa, a bridge club and was the treasurer of Berwick Condo Association. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
