Frances "Louise" Hester

Frances Louise Hester, 94, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Waldron Health and Rehab Center in Waldron. Born December 25, 1914, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Albert and Emma (Rostron) Leffler. She married Jasper Lynn Hester on January 29, 1938, and he preceded her in death on November 10, 1998. Survivors include her daughters, Martha (husband, John) Wetnight of Shelbyville and Janet (husband, Alan) Diodore of Grayling, Mich.; granddaughters, Jill Wetnight and Julie Codding; and great-granddaughter, Jenna Wetnight. She also was preceded in death by her parents; brother, the Rev. David E. Leffler; and sisters, Goldie Creasey, Luna, and Mary Schmidtfranz. Mrs. Hester was a homemaker and formerly employed at Hester's Electric. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school; United Methodist Women's Club; Shelby County Craft Club; and Friendly Homemakers Club. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Carmony-Ewing Chapel of Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Corliss Dees officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Shelby County, 425 E. Washington St., Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
