Fredrick Thomas Anspaugh, 72, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Kindred Hospital South in Indianapolis.
Born December 1, 1939, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Kenneth M. and Kathryn E. “Dottie” (Winkler) Anspaugh. He married Lou Anne Worland on June 24, 1961, and she survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Jeffrey Anspaugh, Rodney (wife, Judy) Anspaugh, and Christopher Anspaugh, all of Shelbyville and Douglas (wife, Michelle) Anspaugh of Apex, North Carolina; brother, Raymond F. (wife, Lee) Anspaugh of Hope; grandchildren, Aaron (wife, Jessica) Anspaugh, Alex Anspaugh, Alton Anspaugh, Taylor Anspaugh, Riley Anspaugh, Jill Anspaugh, Sophia Anspaugh, Isabella Anspaugh and Cullen Knott; mother-in-law, Martha Allison of Shelbyville; brother-in-law, Jerry Thomas of Shelbyville; sisters-in-law, Carol Anspaugh and Kay Worland, both of Shelbyville and Dottie (husband, Keith) Bruffey of Yorktown, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn S. Thomas; and brother, Robert L. Anspaugh.
Mr. Anspaugh was a lifelong resident of Shelbyville and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1957. After High School he earned his Tool and Die Apprenticeship.
He worked at Freudenberg for 35 years, first as a Supervisor in Plant 1, then as the manager of the Tool and Die Shop, retiring in 2002. After retirement he was a courier for Major Hospital.
Mr. Anspaugh was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a former member of Jaycees and Knights of Columbus.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren attending their activities and sporting events.
Fred was an avid Purdue fan and enjoyed golfing.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, August 31, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., with the rosary recited at 3:30 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Saturday, September 1, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway in Shelbyville, with Father Aaron Pfaff officiating.
Interment will be in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery.
