George D. Gardner

George D. Gardner, 79, of Boggstown, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Beech Grove, Indiana. Born April 14, 1928, in Rush County, he was the son of O.I. Gardner and Mary A. (Krammes) Gardner. He married Helen H. Holton on August 12,1950 and she survives. Survivors include one son, Kenneth D. (wife, Ann) Gardner of Boggstown; one daughter, Gaye (husband, Larry) Mullins of Alpine, TN; one brother, Fred Gardner of Shelbyville; one sister, Thelma Swain of Cumberland; and three grandchildren, Donald W. Garver of Shelbyville, Michael T. Gardner and Michele L. Gardner of Boggstown. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eugene Gardner and Maurice Gardner; and one sister, Maxine Rinaldi. Mr. Gardner, a resident of Shelby County since 1935, was a farmer. He was also a private pilot. Mr. Gardner was a 1946 graduate of Moral Township High School. He was a member of the Boggstown Presbyterian Church and the Joseph Boggs Historical Society for Preservation. Graveside services will be at Wednesday, November 7 at 2 p.m. in the Boggstown Cemetery in Boggstown. No visitation will be observed. Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., is handling the arrangements.
