George E. Lee

George E. Lee, 88, of Morristown passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. He was born February 5, 1931, in Morristown, the son of Joseph and Ruth (Hargrove) Lee. He married Faye E. (Miller) Lee on September 2, 1967, and she preceded him in death on July 5, 2015. George is survived by his sister, Mary Jo Reno of Rushville; sister-in-law, Zona Lee of Morristown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to Faye, George was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas Lee, Bill Lee and Bob Lee; sisters, Marjorie Matthews, Betty Newkirk, Caroline Lee and Bonnie Berry. He graduated from Morristown High School in 1949. George was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked in radio communications, while stationed in Alaska. He was a past member of American Legion Post No. 102. George did upholstery work in Rushville. He retired from Chrysler in Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Bill Farmer officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, with military graveside rites conducted by the local military committee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morristown Alumni Association, PO Box 327, Morristown, Indiana 46161.
