George H. Moriarty

George H. "Mike" Moriarty, 75, of Shelbyville died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006. Born Jan. 16, 1931, in Louisville, Ky., he was the son of Edward T. and Elizabeth (Flickenger) Moriarty. He married Annie "Lou" Kirkley, and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Lisa (husband, Terry) Kuhn of Shelbyville; one son, Tim (wife, Warinthip) Moriarty of Shelbyville; and three grandchildren, Derrick Kuhn, Desiree Kuhn and Danielle Kuhn. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Edward J. Moriarty and James Moriarty. Mr. Moriarty had been a technician for Indiana Bell, retiring in 1994. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Moriarty graduated from Flaget High School in Louisville and attended the University of Louisville. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Moriarty officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
