George R. Kuechler Jr., 67, Fairland died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Major
Hospital.
Born June 4, 1939, in Mount Olivet, Ky., he was the son of George R. and
Alvis (Peed) Kuechler. He married Frances Banks on June 30, 1963, and she
survives.
Other survivors include his children, George R. (wife, Shelia) Kuechler III
of Falmouth, Ky., Clayton (wife, Cindy) Kuechler of Granger, Tina Kuechler
of Shelbyville and Joshua (wife, Elizabeth) Kuechler of Greenwood; sister,
Marlene (husband, James) Vonderhaar of Salem, Va.; grandchildren, Carol
Kuechler, Elizabeth Kuechler, George R. Kuechler IV, C.J. Walker, Jesse
Walker, Rodesha Walker, Roy Walker, Kenneth Ehrenberg III, Ryker Kuechler
and Joshua Kuechler Jr.; and great-grandson, Jonathon Mitchlen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Kuechler had been a Fairland resident since 1970.
He had been a tool and die maker, retiring in 2002 from Arvin Industries in
Franklin.
Mr. Kuechler was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1956 to 1960.
He was a member of St. John¹s Evangelical Church in Bellevue.
Mr. Kuechler liked to camp and was a former Cub Scout leader.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes,
Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the
Rev. Alan Goertemiller officiating.
Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland, with military rites
conducted by local veterans organizations..
