George Raymond "Ray" McDaniel, 70, of Shelbyville died Monday, July 30, 2007, at his home.
Born April 22, 1937, in Shelby County, he was the son of George and Hazel B. (Losey) McDaniel. He married Mavern M. Edwards, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Anita McDaniel and Lori Lynn Williams, both of Shelbyville; son, Daniel R. (wife, Twyilla) McDaniel of Shelbyville; sisters, Joyce Ann Crawhorn of Port Orange, Florida, Genevieve Wagner of Shelbyville and Virginia (husband, Joe Edward) Hoffmann of Rushville; grandchildren, Jessica Nicole McDaniel, Kyle Lee Nusbaumer and Paul Raymond Williams; stepgrandchildren, Tiffany S. Logsdon, Heather L. Robinson and Craig A. Robinson; and four step great-granchildren.
He was preceded indeath by his parents; daughter, Laura Ann McDaniel; and sister, Margaret Shelton Loggins.
Mr. McDaniel lived most of his life in Shelby County, where he was the owner and operator of McDaniel and Son Masonry.
He graduated in 1956 from Shelbyville High School.
Mr. McDaniel was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
He was an avid bowler and Dale Earnhart NASCAR fan and collected baseball cards and coins.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison Street.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Interment will be in Bennett Cemetery in Shelby County.
