George Randall "Randy" Armstrong

George Randall "Randy" Armstrong, 57, of Lafayette passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. Born November 14, 1954, in Shelbyville, Indiana, he was the son of George Junior and Barbara Ann (Knight) Armstrong. Survivors include his mother of Indianapolis; sisters, Cathy (husband, Mark) Kendall, Melinda Nash, Patricia (husband, Harold) Mowery, Kelly (husband, Kevin) Goliday and Beth Schaffer, all of Indianapolis and Debra (husband, Dean) Schweigle of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, David Allen Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong formerly worked for the Indiana Highway Department, Sears at Glendale Shopping Center, and Michael's Crafts in Castleton. Randy was a member of Post Road Christian Church. He attended Purdue University. Mr. Armstrong enjoyed the arts and horticulture. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., with funeral services at 1 p.m. Pastor Marc Hayden will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
