Gildardo “Pedro” Hernandez, 42, of Waldron, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Indiana University Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born February 28, 1972, in Cacahuatlan, Guerrero, Mexico, the son of Gildardo Hernandez and Florentina Cambray. He married Leslie Wayman on November 14, 1998, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Florentina Cambray of Cacahuatlan, Mexico; daughters, Macaylah Hernandez, Hannah Hernandez and Avah Hernandez, all of Waldron; sisters, Teresa Hernandez, Maria Lupe’ Hernandez and Analilia Hernandez, all of Cacahuatlan and Rogelia Hernandez of Mexico City; brothers, Julian Hernandez and Pablo Hernandez, both of Cacahuatlan, Elias Hernandez, Lauro Hernandez and Rafael Hernandez, all of Shelbyville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Carlene Wayman of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a daughter, Victoria Hernandez.
“Pedro” graduated from Benito Juarez High School in 1990.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
“Pedro” enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities. He also enjoyed having cook outs.
His family was his greatest treasure. He was a great dad and loved spending time with his girls. He also enjoyed attending their school activities.
“Pedro” also leaves behind his dog, Precious.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Shelbyville Ward, 114 W. Rampart St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. at the church.
Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
