Gloria Jean Goodpaster

Gloria Jean Goodpaster, 69, of Greensburg, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greensburg. She was born September 27, 1943 in Westport, to John N. and Daisy (Wright) Black. She married Henry W. Goodpaster on May 2, 1970, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2005. Survivors include her sons, Henry “J.R.” (wife, Lori) Goodpaster and John (significant other, Ann Robbins) McClintic, both of Greensburg, daughter, Roxie (husband, Richard) Sallee of Greensburg, brother, Mike (wife, Becky Jo) Black of Milroy; daughter-in-law, Delynn Goodpaster; five grandchildren, April Goodpaster, Travis Redelman, Jonathan McClintic, Jessie McClintic and Casey Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Gabe, Callie and Jarcyn and close friends, John D. and Carol McClintic of Greenwood. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael A. Goodpaster. Gloria had been a cook at Trackside Café in Greensburg for 32 years, retiring in 2002. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1962, where she was a member of the Sunshine Group and Drama Club. Mrs. Goodpaster had attended the Community Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at The Community Church of the Nazarene, 711 W. 8th Street in Greensburg. Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Wednesday at the church, with Rev. Perry Cook officiating. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gloria Jean Goodpaster Memorial Fund, in care of Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
