Greg Thieman, 64, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Heritage House in Shelbyville
He was born July 25, 1948 in Greensburg, he was the son of Paul E. and Evelyn L. (Stadtmiller) Thieman.
Survivors include his sisters, Beth Stark (husband, Dwain St. Martin) of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and Jan L. Horn; a nephew, Jason (wife, Elizabeth) Horn of Indianapolis; great-nieces and nephews, J., Job, Georgia and Lila; aunts, Lucille (husband, Eugene) D’Ambrosio of Florida, Clarice Hagen of Rushville and Mae Rose Stadtmiller of Beech Grove; and cousins in Indiana and New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Greg attended St. Joseph Elementary School in Shelbyville and graduated from a Catholic Seminary in Momence, Illinois. He went on to further his education at St. Louis University, where he was working on his doctorate in 1973.
He was the former owner of Thieman Package Liquor, a family owned business for over 60 years, specializing in fine wines.
Greg was very active in the Republican Party in Indiana and Shelby County, where he served as a precinct committeeman.
Private services will be observed by Greg’s family.
