H. Joan Klapper

H. Joan Klapper, 81, of Fairland passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Waldron Health and Rehab. Born August 29, 1930, in Fairland, she was the daughter of Hugh and Gladys (Perry) Imel. She married Edward Ray Klapper on June 5, 1960, and he preceded her in death on August 24, 2007. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Ann Klapper of Shelbyville; sons, David Ray Klapper and Steven Mark Klapper, both of Shelbyville; brother, Duane Imel of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and three brothers. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Gates officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
