Harold Wayne Hubenthal, 67, of Fairland died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South, Greenwood.
Born Feb. 8, 1943, in Kokomo, he was the son of Harold W. and Esther Marie (Brown) Hubenthal. He married Elaine S. Figg on June 26, 1970, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Pamela A. (husband, Mic) Price of Brazil, Ind., Lori S. (husband, Gregg) Schulze of Indianapolis; son, Michael Owen of Destin, Fla.; sisters, Luann Miller, Sharon Hubenthal and Julie Johnson; brother, Rex Hubenthal; grandchildren, Justin Taylor, Brandon Schulze, Valerie Taylor, Christopher Schulze and Josh Schulze; and many nieces and nephews, including Michael Hubenthal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Denise J. Schjoll and Nicole Elaine Hubenthal; and brother, Don Hubenthal.
Mr. Hubenthal had been a truck driver for Pepsi Co., and later retired from Miller Transfer and Rigging as terminal manager, after more than 20 years of service. He was responsible for moving an oversized telescope through the Midwest at night with a final destination in Hawaii. He also had been a professional photographer, photographing the Indy 500 and volcanic eruptions in Hawaii.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Mr. Hubenthal graduated from Metea High School in Metea in 1961.
He attended Landmark Baptist Church in Indianapolis and was a member of the Hawaiian Islanders.
Mr. Hubenthal loved Hawaii and spent 20 years vacationing in Kailua-Kona. He and his wife celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in Hawaii, surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Hubenthal also loved his pet dog, Kona.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastor Scott Bourland officiating.
