Harriet E. Osborne Beatty

Harriet E. Osborne Beatty, 85, of Fishers, former Shelbyville resident, died at St. Vincent?s Hospital in Indianapolis Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Born Oct. 14, 1920, in Anderson, she was the daughter of Louis B. Etchison and Mary Delila Maegerl. She married G. Dale Osborne, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 1988. She married James L. Beatty, and he preceded her in death in 1999. Survivors include two sons, Stephen Osborne of Indianapolis and Gregory (wife, Sandy Mac Allister) Osborne of Fortville; one sister, Jane McCarty of San Diego, Calif.; one grandson, Bradley Osborne of Greenwood; and one great-grandson, Luke Osborne. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Helene Scheffler. Mrs. Beatty was a former Shelbyville resident. She was a legal secretary for Martz, Beatty, Heinds and Wallace in Indianapolis for more than 30 years, retiring in the early 1990s. Mrs. Beatty graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1938. She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
