Harriet H. Strotman, 89, of Fairland, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born Sept. 13, 1916, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Weaver) Hasler. She married Frank William Strotman, on June 14, 1943, and he preceded her in death in 1952.
Survivors include one son, William F. (wife, Barbara) Strotman of Fairland; one daughter, Suzanne Lee Maurice of Fairland; one granddaughter, Randee (husband, Charlie) Taylor of Shelbyville; and three great-grandchildren, Gregory Taylor, Lauren Taylor and Kristen Taylor.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Louise Strotman; and five siblings, Gerald Hasler, Ralph Hasler, Margaret Hasler and two infants.
Mrs. Strotman lived in Indianapolis during her early years.
She was a secretary for the Indianapolis Star and then worked for Tucker Stone, in Fairland. She also owned a furniture store in Fairland and retired from the cable company in Shelbyville, in 1982.
Mrs. Strotman was a former Brandywine Township Trustee, serving two terms.
She graduated from Turkey Trap Elementary School and in 1934 from Fairland High School.
Mrs. Strotman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
