Harry J. Murphy, 91, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Major Hospital. Born April 27, 1917 in Pittsfield, MA, to Dennis Patrick and Mary (Kelly) Murphy. He married E. Regis Colbert, and she survives. Other survivors include daughter, Sharon (husband, Don) Wickens of Greensburg; son, William Murphy of Dallas, TX; sister, Anne Sheerin of Pittsfield, MA; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Leonard Murphy and William Murphy and sister, Helen Murphy. Mr. Murphy was an avid golfer. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Pittsfield, MA in 1935. Mr. Murphy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elk in Shelbyville and the Lunch Bunch. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, followed by Mass of Christian burial, with Father Chris Craig officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
