Harry P. Swazay, 68, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis.
He was born June 18, 1950, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of William and Audrey (Shepard) Swazay.
Harry is survived by his sons, Harry Swazay Jr. and wife, Angela, of Crawfordsville, and Jason Swazay and wife, Angela, of Indianapolis; brother, Herschel Swazay; sisters, Billie Thomas and husband, Lloyd, of Covington, Louisiana, and Penny Kuhn of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Zachary Swazay, Clayton Coffman, Raelyn Swazay, Olivia Swazay, Camryn Clark, Gaston Clark, Courtney Swazay, Ariel Pearson and Layton Pearson; great-grandchild, Karson Swazay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marshall Swazay and William Swazay II; and sisters, Joyce Hurley, Psyche Leonard, Gayle Chauvin and Halcyon Haggard.
Harry was a self-employed carpenter for many years.
He enjoyed watching movies and caring for the fish in his aquarium.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
