Hazel Davis Brown, 98, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Morristown Manor in Morristown.
She was born April 20, 1916, in Brookville, the daughter of Oscar Haag and Loree (Hayward) Banning. She married Harold L. Davis in 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1966. In 1972, she married Kenneth Brown, and he preceded her in death in 1974.
Survivors include her daughter, Evonne Kuhn and husband, John, of Arlington; son, Leon Navelle Davis and wife, Sherrie, of Morristown; daughter-in-law, Brenda Davis of Reading, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Davis; sister, Darlene Bowers; brother, Ambrose “Jr.” Banning; and a grandson, Jason Kuhn.
She graduated from Brookville High School in 1934.
Hazel was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. She was also a member of Amicitia Club for over 50 years.
She retired as a clerk at the Manilla Post Office, with over 25 years of service.
Hazel enjoyed reading and playing euchre.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Dennis Frische-Mouri officiating.
Interment will be at Manilla Cemetery in Manilla.
