Helen A. Messmore, 75, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Indianapolis, IN. Born April 16, 1933 in Shelbyville, Indiana to Paul R. and Mary Margaret (Hendrickson) Lambert. She married A. Wray Messmore on August 25, 1950, and he preceded her in death on December 26, 1990. Survivors include her daughter, Tina H. Messmore of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Rita F. Messmore of Shelbyville: brother, Freddie Lambert of Shelbyville; grandsons, Matthew Messmore of Indianapolis and Bradley Messmore of Shelbyville; great-grandson, Ryder Messmore of Greenwood. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Phillip R. Messmore on May 30, 2003 and brother, Harold Lambert. Mrs. Messmore was a lifelong resident of Shelbyville. She was a homemaker, loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. She loved her church family, singing and the Lord Jesus Christ. Mrs. Messmore was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fairland, IN. Visitation will be Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN. Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Tracy Gross and Garnet L. Mohr officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 4666 N. Michigan Road, Fairland, Indiana 46126.
