Helen Elizabeth Robinson

Helen Elizabeth Robinson, 97, of Fishers, formerly of Fairland, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born October 29, 1916, in Scott County, Indiana, the daughter of Harry and Ada (Graybill) Gaither. On March 28, 1936, she married her husband of 53 years, Alva E. “Boots” Robinson, and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1989. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Ogden and husband, Rick, of Fishers; son-in-law, Bob Larkey of Fountaintown; grandchildren, Jennifer Milliken and husband, Jeff, Scott Lumpkin and wife, Amanda, Karen Gioe and husband, Mario, and Jeff Larkey; and several great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Peggy Larkey; and a brother, Harold Gaither. Helen graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1934, and attended a business college. She was a member of Fairland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Robinson formerly owned and operated Robinson’s Grocery, with her husband, in Fairland. She loved animals and the time spent with her family. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at the funeral home, with Rev. Jim Cherry officiating. Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
