Helen Pauline Aulby

Helen Pauline Aulby, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. She was born December 31, 1925, in Shelby County, the daughter of Fred and Myrtle (Parrot) Schofner. She married Paul Aulby on August 3, 1953, and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1995. Helen is survived by her daughters, Linda Whitted and husband, Don and Shannon Darlene Blair, both of Shelbyville, Janet Dawson and husband, John, of Quincy, Illinois, Phyllis Burleson and husband, Robert, of Pataskala, Ohio, and Deborah Aulby of Whiteland; sons, Steve Bennett and wife, Janie, of Greenfield and Tony Bennett and wife, Sandy, of Trafalgar; foster daughter, Joyce Smith of Rushville; daughter-in-law, Barbara Aulby-Singelais of Shelbyville; sister, Wilma Jean Schuck of Shelbyville; brother, Russell Schofner and wife, Mary Dell, of Shelbyville; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, John King of Shelbyville. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Aulby; daughter, Judy Hash; brothers, Harold Schofner, Melton Schofner and Dale Schofner; sister, Irene Henderson; grandson, John Kincaid II; and twin great-grandsons, Brandon and Cameron Fogle. Helen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She retired in 1995 from Arlene’s Stylette, with 40 years of service. Helen enjoyed doing crafts and planting flowers. She loved animals and is survived by her granddogs, Sassi and Laci. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Lewis Burton officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shelbyville.
