Herbert Addison “Herb” Lord, 50, of Fairland passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born March 18, 1962 in Scottsburg, he was the son of Jack and Linda (Elliott) Lord. He married Sonya Crafton on October 15, 1988, and she survives.
Other survivors include his parents of Pleasant View; daughter, Mary Faith Lord of Indianapolis; sons, Preston Brady Lord and Levi Ruffus Lord, both of Fairland; brothers, Jack (wife, Stethanie) Lord of Thorntown, Michael Lord of Anderson and David Lord of Fairland; grandmother, Alice Elliott of Scottsburg; granddaughter, Mercedes Leigh Lord; grandson, Mahki Addison Lord; father-in-law, Henry Johnson of Greenwood; brother-in-law, James (wife, Patti) Crafton of Jacksonville, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Triton Central High School in 1980.
Herb worked as a concrete finisher for All About Concrete.
He had served in the National Guard.
Herb was a member of New Life United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling and playing cards.
Herb also leaves behind his cat, Chunk.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the funeral home, with Rev. Randall Slavans officiating.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery.
