H.W. Dwight "Jack" Brinson, Jr.

H.W. Dwight "Jack" Brinson, Jr., 75, of Morristown passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011 at his residence. Born August 30, 1936, in Columbus, he was the son of H.W. Dwight and Florabelle "Jack" (Webster) Brinson. He married Mildred Beyer on June 1, 1957, and she survives. Other survivors include his sons, Michael Brinson and Jeffery Brinson, both of Morristown; daughter, Jane (husband, Todd) Higgins of Naples, Florida; sister, Ann (husband, Philip) Clark of Muncie; brother, Tom (wife, Georgiann) Brinson of Muncie; grandchildren, Mark (wife, Jessie) Brinson, Samantha (husband, Adam) Fridlund, Bryan Brinson, Quinn Higgins, Rose Higgins and Henry Higgins; and great-grandchildren, Kate Brinson and a great-granchild expected in January 2012, Nora Lynn Fridlund. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Daniel Brinson. Jack was a long time Shelby County resident, residing in Morristown since 1986. He had previously owned and operated "The Cabin" in Morristown for nearly 40 years, he was formerly a rural letter carrier for Morristown for over 20 years and worked at General Electric for 20 years. He retired in 2009. Jack was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the National Muzzleloading Rifle Association. He served on the Morristown Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and Redevelopment Commission. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1955. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Monday, November 21, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 East Broadway Street. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at The Brinson's residence following the service. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
