Ima Jean Roberts, 90, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis.
She was born September 3, 1927 in Shelbyville, Texas, the daughter of Tommie and Velma Ogden.
Ima Jean is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Davis of Waldron, Debbie Crowe of Greenwood, Sherrie Wagner and husband, Robert, of Kokomo, and Brenda Robertson of Shelbyville; sons, Dean Roberts and wife, Tammy, of Greenwood, Calvin Roberts of St. Augustine, Texas, and Gregg Roberts and wife, Kimberly, of Melbourne, Florida; sister, Frances McClelland of St. Augustine, Texas; brother, Charles Ogden of Port Arthur, Texas; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Roberts; and brother, “Bubba” Ogden.
Ima Jean graduated in the class of 1945 from Brookville High School in Texas.
She retired from IPC, now NOK Freudenburg, as an inspector, with over 25 years of service.
Ima Jean enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading romantic novels, sewing and playing cards.
She formerly volunteered at Shelby County Hospice.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Interment will be at St. Paul Cemetery.
