Ivan "Gene" Eacret, 78 of Waldron died, August 2, 2007 at Major Hospital.
Born August 30, 1928, in Marion County, he was the son of Ralph and Lena (McIntyre) Eacret. He married Delores M. "Sugar" Berauer on July 19, 1983 and she survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Gene (wife, Michaele) Brandt of Stockton, Calif., Reggie R. (wife, Judy) Ross of North Vernon and Jayme J. (wife, Libby) Ross and Flat Rock; daughter, Candice K. Crouch of St. Paul; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and John; and sisters, Barbara, Dorothy and Patricia.
Mr. Eacret had been a truck driver, retiring in 1991 from A.B.F. Trucking.
He was a U.S.Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving from 1949 to 1954.
Mr. Eacret graduated from Manuel High School in 1946.
He was a member of the Teamsters Local No. 135, American Legion in Southport and Waldron Mohawk Athletic Boosters.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chape, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the rev. Darrell Gressel officiating.
Cremation will follow.
