Izetta A. (Heck) Brokering, 89, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at her residence.
Born October 1, 1922, in Mt. Auburn, she was the daughter of Ary M. and Gladys M. (Scott) Heck. She married Edison "Eddy" Leroy Brokering on November 7, 1941, and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1981.
Survivors include a son, Greg Ray Brokering of Sierra Vista, Arizona; grandsons, Scott Leroy Brokering of St. Paul, Darin Lee Brokering of Lewis Creek and Michael R. Brokering of Orlando, Florida; three great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, "Max" Leroy Brokering; and grandson, Warren Keith Brokering.
Mrs. Brokering graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1941 and Indiana College of Beauty Culture in 1942.
She was a homemaker and housewife and had worked at Collins Jewelry Store and Public Service of Indiana.
Mrs. Brokering was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and attended Morning Church Circle and Church CCC. She also was a member of Psi Iota Xi sorority, Current Topic Club, Vestavia Club, the Hospital Guild, a bridge club and Monday Morning Coffee Group for 28 years.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
