Jack D. Spegal, 73, of Morristown passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. Born July 27, 1934, in Fortville, he was the son of James and Mary (Cottrell) Spegal. He married Phyllis M. Rigdon on September 1, 1957, and she survives. Other survivors include his son, Dale Spegal (partner, Mack Allison) of Indianapolis; daughters, Wanda (husband, Bob) Wyatt of Morristown, Norma (husband, Tim) Ward of Shirley and Jane (husband, John) Clifton of Greenfield; brother, Gail (wife, Shirley) Spegal of Fairland; and grandchildren, Jackie Clifton, Jacob Clifton, Marshall Davis, Sarah Wyatt, Shelby Wyatt and Timmy Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Spegal had been a pipefitter, retiring from Chrysler Corp. in 1979. He also was a cattle farmer and raised registered Polled Hereford cattle. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Spegal graduated from Moral Township High School. He was a member of Shiloh Christian Church, Morristown Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star, Shelbyville American Legion and a past member of Eagle Lodge, York Rite ad Raleigh Community Club, where he loved to dance. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Carmony-Ewing Chapel of Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Fred Girdwood officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Christian Church, 4980 S. 500 E, Greenfield, IN 46140.
