Jack Edward Isley

Jack E. Isley, age 75, died May 12 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born July 23, 1940, in St. Paul, the son of William Floyd Isley and Mary (Bruner) Isley. He married June Ellen Aldridge on August 26, 1962, who passed away in 2011. Survivors include his sons, Brett (wife, Sydney) of Chino Hills, CA and Kirk (wife, Jill) of Valparaiso; sister, Josephine Fogle, of Greensburg, and brother, Delbert, of Corpus Christie, TX; granddaughters, Makenna, Macie and Madeline; grandson, Matthew; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Isley. Mr. Isley had resided in Shelbyville since 1963 and he graduated from Waldron High School in 1958. He served his country in the Air Force Reserve for 6 years and progressed to Staff Sergeant. He worked as an engineering planner for RCA/Thomson Consumer Electronics and retired in 2001 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Waldron Masonic Lodge No. 217. Mr. Isley was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He treasured his wife of 49 years, sons, and grandchildren, as well as his family, in-laws and friends. After his wife's passing he committed himself to helping others cope with grief through active participation in grief support groups. He enjoyed socializing with friends and working outdoors. He attended Shelbyville Community Church and served as a greeter. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
