Jack R. Tindall, 69, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009, at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton.
Born December 2, 1939, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Willard E. and Myra (Kroening) Tindall. He married Penney McCarty on March 29, 1964, and she survives.
Other survivors include his son, Jack Russell "Rusty" Tindall of Indianapolis; daughter, Nicole (husband, Vance) McQueen of Carmel; twin brother, Jim (wife, Terry) Tindall of Shelbyville; half brother, Bud Tindall, half sister, Sue Tindall and grandchildren, Jackson McQueen and Macarty McQueen, both of Carmel.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Tindall had resided in Florida since August of 2007.
He had been a teacher and coach. He was a basketball, track and cross country coach at Southwestern High Schhol in his early years and coached football and tennis at Shelbyville High school until retiring in 1997. He then worked at Major Hospital for 10 years. In his earlier years, he was an insurance agent and a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable at the former Kaufman Agency in Shelbyville. He also held a real estate license for many years.
Mr. Tindall was a member of First Christian Church and Masonic Lodge, both in Shelbyville; Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks in Bradenton; and the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.
He was an avid tennis player and played for years with the Tennis Four Group.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Carmony-Ewing Chapel of Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Interment will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelbyv County.
