Jack Wesley Warble, 84, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Cypress Run Rehabilitation Center in Morristown.
Born February 26, 1928 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Lauren and Orlena (Mansfield) Warble. He married Martha Kepley on April 10, 1949, and she survives.
Other survivors include his son, Michael (wife, Karen) Warble of Shelbyville; daughter, Ann (husband, William) Nienow of Hilton Head, South Carolina; grandchildren, David (wife, Betsy) Warble, Michelle (fiance', Dan O'Connell) Warble, Michael (wife, Erika) Nienow, Laura (husband, Matt) Bubalo and Thomas Nienow; great-grandchildren, Ally Warble, Jack Douglas Warble, John Warble and Aaron Warble.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Warble was a lifelong resident of Shelby County.
He graduated from Morristown High School in 1945.
Mr. Warble had owned and operated Duffy-Warble Insurance since 1948 and was a Shelby County Councilman-at-Large in 1970.
He was a member of Morristown United Methodist Church and the Shelby County Historical Society, and volunteered at Benessee Oncology Center.
Mr. Warble received the Sagamore of the Wabash Award and the Silver Beaver Award of the Boy Scouts' Central Indiana Council.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during World War II.
A gathering of friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Morristown United Methodist Church, 221 S. Washington St. in Morristown.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church, with Rev. Amy Artis officiating.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery at a later date.
