Jacqueline Ann Bruner

Jacqueline Ann Bruner, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at Heritage House of Shelbyville. She was born September 11, 1932, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Vern Sr. and E. Evelyn (Steiging) Riser. On September 6, 1953, she married Ronald Gene Bruner, and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2010. Jacqueline is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Wright and husband, Ken, of Indianapolis; son, Kyle Bruner and wife, Debra, of Caldwell, Idaho; sister, Carol Osborne of Beech Grove; brother, Don Riser and wife, Shirley, of Greenwood; grandchildren, Kari Bruner, Alex McBride, Kerry Reifel and husband, Chris, and Kurt Wright; great-grandchildren, Haley Stafford, Cameron Jones, Logan Jones, Kayla Reifel, Kelsey Reifel and Brianna Wright; a great-great-granddaughter, Ivy Sullivan; several close friends, whom were like family to her; and a plethora of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Vern Riser Jr.; and sisters, Ruth Newcomb, Evelyn Jean Swails and Charlotte Pflum. Jacqueline graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1950. She worked for Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator from 1950 to 1955. Jacqueline was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She was a room mother at Coulston Elementary School from 1961 to 1971. She served as secretary-treasurer of the Parent Teacher Organization at Coulston Elementary School and Bethel No. 37. Jacqueline worked at the election polls for many years. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Norristown Cemetery in Shelby County. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to Major Hospital Foundation, 150 W.
