Jacquelyn “Jackie” Joseph, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.
She was born July 24, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Johanna (Karpen) Joseph.
Jackie is survived by her cousin, Janney Simpson of Connecticut; and her best friends, John McAnany, Debbie Stieglitz and Scott Smith, all of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Epstein; and brother-in-law, Edward Lee Epstein.
Jackie graduated from Tudor Hall High School in Indianapolis in 1940. She received an associates degree from Indiana University.
She was a landscape consultant for Eagle Creek Nursery, where she created landscaping designs for over 50 years, retiring in 2004.
Jackie enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.
She loved all animals, especially her poodles.
Jackie enjoyed the time she spent fishing, from sunrise to sunset, at the family cabin in Michigan.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
