James Allen “Jamie” Dugan, 52, a lifelong Shelbyville resident, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his residence.
He was born June 7, 1962, in Shelbyville, the son of William J. “Bill” and Jenny Sue (Nedderman) Dugan.
Jamie is survived by his mother of Shelbyville; sister, Kathleen “Kathy” DeMoss and husband, Jay, of Shelbyville; brother, Michael Jay Dugan of Shelbyville; nieces, Emily Keller and husband, Steve, Natalie Browning and husband, Kenny, Michelle Rupert and husband, Justin, and Jenny DeMoss; nephew, Joey Dugan; several great-nieces and great nephews; special lifelong friend, Rita Hellums of Moscow; and many dear friends, including Shane Lower and family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Jamie graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1980.
He attended First Church of the Nazarene.
Jamie began his career in food service with his family at The Fiddler’s Three in 1978, in 2001 he opened his own bistro, Half Pints. Through the years, Jamie served many loyal customer and friends, knowing most on a first name basis. Special thanks to Caleb McKinney and his family for many loyal years of service at Half Pints.
He was an avid car enthusiast and gun collector. He also enjoyed boating and photography.
Jamie loved spending time with the children in the family. He also loved dogs, and leaves behind his beloved pet, Grover.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
