James P. ?Jim? Rush, 50, of Shelbyville, died Monday, July 11, 2005, at Major Hospital.
Born Dec. 25, 1954, in Clinton, he was the son of Arthur and Lillie June (Walton) Rush. He married Mary Brown on Jan. 23, 1973, and she survives.
Other survivors include his father of Shelbyville; one daughter, Melanie (husband, James) Monroe of Edinburgh; one son, Jimmy (wife, Nicole) Rush of Flat Rock; two brothers, Dave Rush and Dale Rush, both of Shelbyville; one sister, Rhonda Dunn of Shelbyville; and five grandchildren, Mason Monroe, Maverick Monroe, Wyatt Monroe, Jacob Byrd and Josh Rush.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Mr. Rush had lived in Shelby County for the last 22 years.
He was a machinist, tool and die maker and CNC programer for Okuma International.
Mr. Rush had attended Arlington High School.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Plantz officiating.
Interment will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery, in Shelby County.
