Jane A. Johnson

Jane A. Johnson, 89, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Heritage House Convalescent Center. Born December 28, 1920 in Amboy, Indiana, she was the daughter of Kenneth Lowell and Faye (Hardin) Hunt. She married Robert Guy Johnson, and he preceded her in death in 1978. Survivors include her son, Dr. R.L. (wife, Shelley) Johnson of Shelbyville and granddaughter, Jennifer Johnson of Muncie. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Johnson resided for many years in Hollywood, Florida, enjoying the warm climate before returning to Indiana to be near her family. She had been employed at Ball Hospital in Muncie then at Delco Battery and later at Children's Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Marion High School in 1938 and from Manchester College, as a medical technologist. She was a member of Delta Chi Sigma sorority. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Estates of Serenity Cemetery in Marion, Indiana. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, Indiana.
