Jane A. Maze, 78, of Fairland, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.
She was born on December 5, 1934, in Acton, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Phemister) Moore. She married William E. “Eddie” Maze on October 9, 1954, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1984.
Jane is survived by her sisters, Jody (husband, Dick) Olinger of Fairland and Gwenn (husband, Carroll) Kaster of Fountaintown; brother, Glenn (wife, Mary) Moore of Hinkley, Illinois; several nieces and nephews, including Terri (husband, John) Meal of Fairland; and several great-nieces and nephews, including Brandi Panning, Amber Meal and Cara (husband, Dustin) Kendall and their families.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Jane graduated from Franklin Central High School in 1952.
She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.
Jane retired from U.S. Customs in the Treasury Department, where she was administrative assistant, in 1986.
She was a member of Acton Order of Eastern Star Lodge No. 173.
Jane enjoyed crocheting, sewing, singing and music.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Acton Cemetery.
