Janet Kay Esarey, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.
She was the daughter of Charles Franklin and Velma Mary (Watson) Webb. On December 8, 1956, she married her husband of nearly 62 years, Robert Esarey, and he survives.
In addition to Robert, Janet is survived by her daughters, Janice Kay McDonnell of Shelbyville, and Deborah Ann Thompson and husband, Chris, of Indianapolis; sisters, Mary Patricia Draper and Ruth Charlene Wilson, and husband, Philip, both of New Palestine; grandsons, Brian Robert Wright and Daniel Steven Spall and wife, Courtney; great-grandchildren, William Wright, Elleanor Wright, Tate Spall and Colin Spall; and several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Janet graduated from New Palestine High School.
She was a member of Fairland United Methodist Church.
Janet was a past matron of the New Palestine Order of Eastern Star; now affiliated with Fairland Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 359, where she was treasurer for the last several years.
She enjoyed collecting antiques. Janet focused her love on her husband and family.
She also leaves behind her cats, Bubba and Sweetie.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will follow Eastern Star rites at 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
