Janet V. Sipe, 88 of Morristown passed away Monday, July 30, 2007 at Morristown Manor in Morristown.
Born August 27, 1918, in Hancock County, she was the daughter of Homer and Mable (Sterrett) Jessup. She married Roy L. Sipe on November 24, 1938, and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2005.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie Cunningham of McKinny, Texas, Sharon (husband, Harley) Huffman of Whiteland and Cinda (husband, Steve) Andis of Morristown; sons, Steve (wife, Mary) Sipe of Mission Viejo, California, and Rick (wife, Pat) Sipe of Clarkston, Michigan; brother, Jack Jessup of Kimberling City, Missouri; sister Peg Elsbury of Madera Beach, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alice Evelyn Leary and Lucille McGauley; brother, John Jessup; and son-in-law, Bill Cunningham.
Mrs. Sipe had been employed at Bell Telephone Co., Bluebird Restaurant, Morristown High School, Fort Benjamin Harrison and retired from Navel Avionics.
She graduated from Westland High School.
Mrs. Sipe was a member of Morristown Christian Church, where she was active in church music, Delta Chi class and Prime Time.
She loved playing cards and had been a member of a Bunco Club and the Merry Mixers home economics club.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North Street, Morristown; and from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Morristown Christian Church, 209 S. Washington Street in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Rev. Fred Hickman and Bill Farmer officiating.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
