Janice Douglas, 71, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born January 24, 1940, in Mannsville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Clem and Avis (Adams) Tungate.
Survivors include her son, Stephen (wife, Natalie) Douglas of Carmel; daughters, Kelly (husband, Bruce) Willard of Shelbyville and Gail (husband, Gary) Sexton of Indianapolis; sister, Betty Wright of Torrance, California; brother, William Tungate of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Jess Willard of Franklin, Jeana (husband, Andrew) Craft, Shannon (husband, Josh) Miller, Haley Oskins, Whitney Oskins, and Grant Werner, all of Indianapolis, Ashley Douglas of Tennessee, Isabele Gies and Camden Douglas, both of Carmel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Louise Smith, LeeMae Wiseman, Linda Pair and Patricia Kelley; and brothers, James Tungate, Ancil Tungate and Larry Tungate.
Mrs. Douglas lived in Shelbyville most of her life and attended Shelbyville High School.
She retired as an entry clerk at O'Neal Steel after 25 years of service.
Mrs. Douglas was a member of West Street United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening and reading.
Friends may gather from 11 to 11:30 am, Thursday, June 9, 2011 at West Street United Methodist Church, 629 S. West St., Shelbyville.
Memorial services will be at 11:30 am, at the church, with Rev. Carl Ewick officiating.
