Jean O'Neal White, 86, of Morristown passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
Born February 13, 1922, in Polk County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Hugh C. and Emily R. (Ellis) O'Neal. She married David W. White on July 19, 1941, and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2002.
Survivors include her son, William (wife, Vera) White of Morristown; daughter, Emily Anne (husband, Jack) Ellis of Avon Park, Florida; sisters, Louise White of Minnesota, Dorris (husband, Ivan) Bull of Arizona and Ruth (husband, John) Powell of Tennessee; brother, Ellis (wife, Harriett) O'Neal of Florida; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchidren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. White was a homemaker and had been an interpreter at Conner Prairie.
She was a member of Knightstown Friends Church, and attended Morristown Methodist Church.
Mrs. White graduated from Kokomo High School and Earlham College in Richmond.
She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and was a leader form 1953 to 1962. She also was a member of Shelby County Historical Society, and Puckhuckers Rug Guild.
Private family services will be held.
Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 124 E. North St., Morristown, Indiana.
