Jean Roe, 78, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Morristown Manor, in Morristown.
Born Aug. 28, 1926, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Pop Cobb and Gertrude Ethel (Smyser) Casey. She married Robert E. Roe on March 1, 1948, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1985.
Survivors include one son, Gregory D. (wife, Mary) Roe of Shelbyville; one daughter, Terry (husband, Jeff) Bastin of London; two grandchildren, Emily Bastin of London and Nick Bastin of New Palestine; and two great-grandchildren, Branden Bastin and Brenna Bastin.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Demaree, Mary Frances Wheeler and Deloris Graham.
Mrs. Roe was a homemaker.
She graduated in 1944 from Arlington High School, where she was a cheerleader.
Mrs. Roe helped organize and form the youth bowling league at Blue River Lanes.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Holland officiating.
Interment will be in Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery,
