Jean Ann Westcott

Jean Ann Westcott, 89, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Brickyard Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield.

She was born May 28, 1933, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Ernest R. Jacobs and Ruth (Butler) Jacobs Thacker.

Jean is survived by her loving children; sons, James Westcott and Michael Westcott, both of Greenfield; daughters, Patricia Hunter and husband, Steve, of Silver City, New Mexico, and Susan Apple and husband, Jeff, of Greenfield; grandchildren, Andrea Jones, Nicole Mann and husband, Adam, Joseph Hunter and wife, Brandy, Jennifer Apple and fiancee’, Dakota Koontz, and Jason Apple and girlfriend, Caly Grogan; three step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Joseph Thacker; brother, Robert Jacobs; and sister, Anita Troup.

Jean graduated in 1951 from Broad Ripple High School.  In 1978, she graduated with an Associate’s degree from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas.

She was very devoted to the care of and education of children.  She formerly owned and managed the private kindergarten “Jack and Jill Kindergarten” from 1968 to 1971.

Private family services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
