Jeffrey Allen “Jeff” Richart, 55, of Waldron, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 10, 1962, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Leon Richart and Eleanor (Holznagel) Richart. On October 10, 2015, he married Tammy Larrison, and she survives.
Jeff is also survived by his mother of Scottsdale, Arizona; step-son, Justin Sawyer and wife, Jennifer, of Waldron; step-daughters, Ashley Stevens and husband, Seth, of Acton, and Courtney Rankin and husband, Travis, of Shelbyville; sister, Jodi Richart Weintraut of Shelbyville; half-brother, Randy Kinniburgh of Scottsdale, Arizona; half-sisters, Mary Grossman of Tucson, Arizona, and Connie Cowen and husband, George, of Cave Creek, Arizona; step-grandchildren, Lincoln Sawyer, Haley Sawyer, Scarlett Stevens and Kayla Sawyer; several nieces and nephews including Sydnee Weintraut of Shelbyville; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Anita Larrison of St. Paul.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Jeff graduated from Waldron High School in 1980.
He was self-employed in car sales, owning Hoosier Auto Center, since 1992. Jeff was the former owner and operator of Richart Suzuki, for several years.
He was a fan of NASCAR, with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. Jeff recently attended his 46th running of the Indianapolis 500. He enjoyed TQ midget races, watching the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University basketball. Jeff also enjoyed attending car auctions.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at the funeral home, with Pastor Bruce Banister officiating.
Interment will be at Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County.
